I spent so much time on this it makes me proud to be deviating in the space art category ^^ 1 full hour and please i want all your commentses and favs because it would make me so happy!
NO.
I was talking with *absolutehalo earlier, and whilst we were bantering on about originality etc, we found some links about DA that showed some terraspace style artwork. Now the key fact about these pieces of art were that they looked almost exactly like icarus's wish, some borrowing so many ideas from it that they may as well have just saved themselves the bother and just saved mine and uploaded it to their gallery. Just my opinion, but this has GOT to stop. Sure, there isn't all that much room round for originality these days anymore, well not manageable originality with new concepts and a new perspective or appeal to an image. But that is no excuse to be overinspired by one particular piece of art. And this doesn't just go for icarus's wish, it accounts for other pieces.
In anycase, *absolutehalo decided to create a icarus's satire piece, so i providing him with a new render with .... exactly the same terrain and surface map as icarus's wish, helped ihm along the way. I think it's kinda sexy personally, although i think * absolutehalo is a little embarrassed, but it's all in good fun and for pointing out a valid point.

I was bored and decided to go through your scraps. I read all the comments here and was amused and irritated in almost equal measure. The fact that people don't read descriptions is severely highlighted here, and if people don't read the description here, then obviously it happens all over this community. Not a nice thing to think about. At least I got a semi-laugh out of people taking this seriously, when quite obviously blatant that it is Icarus's Wish. Only crap. 49 favourites is kinda disgraceful really, seeing as most of those are from people taking this as a proper art piece.
And yeah, I agree with the points you made with this.
