Sooooo...

Things have taken a slight set-back.  Last week I was made redundant, ergo I no longer have a job, no routine source of income, and my life for the next x-weeks is going to be filling in job-seeking/redundancy related forms and dispensing Curriculum Vitae's to anybody with hands to receive them.  Obviously, this takes priority over anything I can do here... I need to eat.

Yay recession.  Anybody with serious job/design offers, drop me an e-mail, I won't be frequenting here much until I'm back on my feet again (not that I was frequenting much anyway...)

Progress is being made, sweet tasty progress.  I have purchased web-hosting, a domain, and am currently attempting to make all kinds of win at the same time - and having a domain + hosting with nothing on it is a good source of inspiration.  Juggling about 10 things at the moment though so it's just trying to find some time to do more, one of those "busy months" with all the bills + arrangements + events happening at the same time.

Anyway, the new URL will be www.idealyn.com - it's got a very non-optimised (as in ye with the massive resolution monitors will see tiling... probably) temporary holding screen that I threw together quickly earlier - the blurred image in the background being... new....  I will of course, scream and throw a small party in a confined space when it's complete, but it involves me re-learning a chunk of flash... that'll be fun

So yeah, a gratuitous journal really just to let you know I haven't gone and declared I'm back and gone and run away again. Back to photoshoppe I go.

I was really tempted to do some kind of Dr.Frankenstein quote for a journal title but that plan never really got off the ground.

So hi, yes, I am here for the moment.  Call this a somewhat fleeting visit, but it doesn't come without some "pieces o' win".  I am currently (although the word should be read as FINALLY) - getting back into doing what I used to love doing so much.  Fudging around with good ol' photoshop.  A few years out of the loop actually made me realise that the one skill I felt wholeheartedly passionate about throughout was the one I stopped actively pursuing.  So what does this mean?

It means I'm going to pro-actively attempt to make something of a career out of something I'm not (on paper), educated in - and enter what appears to be an increasingly bloated field of talented graphic artists and designers.  Starting with designing a new portfolio website, and to ensure I work with variety, comes with working on a new image.  So hopefully, fingers crossed... in a few weeks my most recent "deviation" won't be from 2006.  I've had the opportunity through my current job to learn a lot about the print and design industries, and I'd love to take that knowledge and forge something that works from it.

Also, I learned how to stretch a canvas, and I tell no word of a lie, I stretch a MEAN canvas.

Whilst I'm here, may as well make a few points.

I haven't been admin for almost half a decade, I'm pretty sure I cannot give DD's and stuff like that, so stop noting me requests!  
Because of my amazing disappearing act, I have more unread messages than the UK as a country has teeth.  Apologies if anybody sent me anything important :s

I'll stop rambling now... sure I've said that before at some point.  I work full time now between that and designing websites/images I can't see updates here being too regular, so I'll leave with a teeny tiny teaser of a work in progress.
