I believe that part of becoming an artist is being able to revisit older works and investing some time into fixing mistakes and advancing them. I submitted the original piece for this just over a year ago, and whilst it was one of my favourite pieces, it remained riddled with a few mistakes that I really didn't enjoy seeing. So this is to see how far I've progressed, and to do the piece justice.
Now, the stupid thing is, that when I decided to do this, I realised that the .psd is on a different computer, so all adjustments have been edited directly from the .jpg. I've removed some nasty parts, changed others, and added more detail. Hopefully, it's a better piece because of it.
I know it isn't realistic with the planet easily visible through the atmosphere, but rules are made to be broken, right?. It's meant to bring out that concept of contrast better.
Anyway, I'll stop wittering, I had fun with this one, and that's probably me down for a while due to exams. For some reason every time I open terragen I draw a blank, but I guess it's all part of the learning curve. Enjoy the new hotness.
