Sort of further experimentation, sort of revisiting and refining older techniques. This started out as a panoramic render of mars to attempt to better my "Chasm" piece (which I never made available as a print). Then I remembered that due to some faulty machinery, dA withdrew panoramic prints from their lineup. Pity, this coulda looked bitchin'.
Anywho, the inspiration is derived from a very very old game I played where you had to race meteors. Obviously, the graphics at that time were lacklustre, but the game was fun (sorta like the original star fox on the nes, y'know... where andross turned out to be a pile of geometric shapes that moved?). So this is a sort of rendition of that with new ideas, such as an sub-terranean civilisation linked through a series of high-speed transportation pipes. There was a plan to have a city in the canyon, but it turned out to be too distracting.
But yeah - intense colours, a new stance on collisions, experimentation with light immersion, and an attempt to nurture a feeling of travel. Hopefully I've learned a few new things from this one, whether you like it or not.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
