Not all asteroids are set on a course to collide with something - some just want to admire the view.

Not every terraspace scene needs to have the terragen presented in a traditional landscape -> space view. There is always room for new ideas using the programs at hand in this genre. Two initial renders (not complex, total rendering time was one hour), asteroid renders and a lot of digital painting and some photomanipulation got me this, about 5 hours work overall. Just a vision I had in my head and a motivation to practice and try some new things. I don't have much time at the moment due to my schools yearbook, but I don't want to slip into an artistic lull again, so I made this to keep myself on my toes. Yes I know it's not a "natural disaster" - but it's something different

I dunno, it's a lot more wallpaper friendly than a lot of my other works, so I hope this finds a good home on your desktop, it looks great on mine. Most of all, enjoy it!

P.S - many will assume the planet is earth, and whilst this was my original intention whilst I was painting and manipulating a map for it, I got carried away and tried some new things, the other two planets in view would also prove that this isn't strictly earth. So to me it's a habitable planet, if you want it to be earth for a more romanticised perspective on it - then it's earth
