Artist's Comments
So many people in the world, yet only some want to fly.
Here it is, i've kept you waiting for 3 weeks, and it's all finished now. So, stats Time taken = 3 weeks, apprx 70hours work. Tools = photoshop 6 + CS + terragen + wacom tablet Layers = 300+ .PSD size = 344mb Original size = 3000*4500pixels Crashes = too many to count, you try making this on a freaking laptop.... Anyway, i have to go out now, but i'l leave a small disclaimer here now. READ THIS!!! I am a fantasy artist, this image is NOT meant to be a representation of a real life event. The only things that i've borrowed from reality is the idea of the moon, astronaut, and looking down at the earth. I don't care if the exploding planet next to the earth doesn't exist, or if the others do not exist, this is not meant to be scientifically correct down to the finest detail, no, everything isn't in proportion, but that's not the point of the art, it's supposed to be a piece of art that can be enjoyed because it is what it is. Therefore, any comments telling me how to make certain aspects more realistic will annoy me greatly, not reading an artists description is a crime to the artist. I hope that is understood. Anyway, whatever else has to be said... please enjoy this image, it's supposed to evoke emotion as well as a nice eye-candied piece of art, with the whole "goodbye" concept of the astronaut saying his goodbye's. Emotion is something of a rareity in space art these days (i find this anyway...) so this is just my jab at attempting to carve emotion into a piece. I'm very nervous (probably the most nervous i've ever been) about submitting this image simply because i've only been doing space-art for a month... and this is the biggest thing i've ever attempted, thus i hope it's accepted well. Credits - ~DKF - thanks for the tip on the stars - ~scifisrc, more specifically ~psamtik - original planet cloud resource, learned a lot off that, now developed my own cloud resource for my planets - anyone i asked to give me help with the image on the way. - ~ucd *sirgerg *shirosynth for being my inspiration Original image :: - [link] << there WALLPAPER :: - [link] Comments + fav's make me happy, and if you do not FULLVIEW then you are not doing me a favour, please be kind and full view |
